Personal Profile
Dr. Alexane Durand DVM, MVM, DipECVDI, DACVR, MRCVS
I am a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging and of the American College of Veterinary Radiology. I completed my veterinary medicine degree at the University of Lyon, France, before undergoing a residency in diagnostic imaging at the University of Glasgow, UK, during which my interest in MRI grew even stronger.
I then moved to the USA to work at North Carolina State University and at the University of Madison-Wisconsin, before coming back to Europe in 2019 to work in the Radiology service of the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Bern, Switzerland, where neuroimaging is a major focus.
Most of my research has been dedicated to veterinary neuroimaging, with a particular emphasis on MRI, complemented by further coursework in advanced imaging techniques to deepen my expertise. I am currently pursuing a PhD at the Vetsuisse Faculty and Graduate School for Health Sciences of the University of Bern, focusing on the evaluation of skull stripping techniques in dogs and cats.
During these years, I also have taken part in continuing education by teaching MRI neuroimaging courses to fellow veterinarians – an opportunity to share my knowledge, clinical experience, and genuine enthusiasm for the field.
